On Tuesday, March 26, IMPD covert robbery detectives began investigating a series of armed robberies on Indianapolis' east side.

"Using investigative techniques, detectives were able to quickly identify a potential suspect and suspect vehicle," the department said in a social media post.

The next day, detectives near the 3900 block of East 10th Street, near North Sherman Drive, learned of a nearby armed robbery and determined the same suspect was involved, IMPD said.

Police found the suspect and his car and followed it to a home in the 200 block of Grovewood Place, near Emerson and Elmwood avenues in Beech Grove. The suspect was taken into custody "without incident" and detectives found cash and guns inside the home, police said.

The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make formal charging decisions in the case.
