LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WTHR) – Lafayette police are looking for a bank robbery suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.
Just after 12:02 p.m. Monday, Lafayette police officers responded to the Centier Bank branch, located at 5 Executive Drive, in reference to a bank robbery.
A man, described to be about 6 feet 1 inch tall, wearing a light-colored long-sleeved shirt, black sock hat and sunglasses, displayed a handgun and demanded money.
The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
Police say no shots were fired and nobody was harmed.
Shortly after, officers recovered a bag with cash that was found along the roadway near the intersection of Sagamore Pky N and Greenbush Street.
Authorities believe the bag and money are related to the bank robbery.
The suspect is at large and considered armed and dangerous. This investigation is on-going.
