Kokomo search warrant leads to drug arrest

A home search in Kokomo lead to the arrest of two people on multiple drug-related charges.

KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) – A home search in Kokomo lead to the arrest of two people on multiple drug-related charges.

Kokomo police said on Feb. 7 officers of the department's Drug Task Force were called to assist Howard County Probation and Howard County In-Home Detention officers with a home visit.

Officers visited the home of 40-year-old James Warren in the 1500 block of North Purdum Street.

Police say officers observed suspected narcotics and ammunition in the home and obtained a search warrant.

During the search, officers found money, three guns, packaging for “spice”, suspected unpackaged synthetic cannabinoid (with an estimated street value of $15,000), 29 grams of methamphetamine, 41 grams of an unknown controlled substance, and 104 grams of suspected heroin.

Warren was arrested on the following preliminary charges:

  • Dealing a Narcotic Drug, a Level 2 felony
  • Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony
  • Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 felony
  • Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony
  • Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 felony

Brandon Wilson, 40, of Kokomo was also arrested in the investigation on the following:

  • Dealing a Narcotic Drug, a Level 2 felony
  • Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony
  • Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 felony
  • Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony
  • Visiting a Common Nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor
  • Possession of Marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor
  • Possession of a Firearm by Serious Violent Felon, a Level 4 felony
