KOKOMO, Ind. — The Kokomo Police Department is searching for a suspect in connection to a shooting that left one person in critical condition Sunday morning.
On Sunday, Nov. 24, just before 8 a.m., police said they responded to 600 block of South Lee Drive on a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a person with gunshot injuries. The victim was taken to a Kokomo hospital, and was later transported to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment.
The victim is in critical condition, police said.
The Kokomo Police Department is actively searching for a person of interest, identified as Lucio Contreras.
Contreras may be driving a silver Chevrolet Malibu, with a broken right taillight, and police said he might be armed. Officers believe he is headed to the Gary, Indiana area.
