KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) – Police in Kokomo have made an arrest following a death investigation Friday afternoon.
According to Kokomo police, officers were called to the 400 block of North Purdum Street neat East Jefferson Streetaround 5 p.m. for reports of shots fired and a man down in the roadway.
When officers arrived on scene, they found an adult male lying in the street with several gunshot wounds. The male, later identified as 43-year-old Dennis J. Vincent of Kokomo, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sturday, Kokomo police announced the arrest 26-year-old William A. Mealer for murder.
Police say Mealer was located in Logansport and transported to the Howard County Criminal Justice Center.
This case remains active for investigation.
