KOKOMO, Ind. — Kokomo police are searching for multiple people in connection with a shooting that critically injured a teenager Tuesday evening.
The shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. Nov. 12 in the 900 block of North Washington Street, near East Madison Street. Responding Kokomo Police Department officers found a business that had damage to a window.
Around the same time, an 18-year-old man was dropped off at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo hospital with a gunshot wound. He was later taken to an Indianapolis hospital, where he was listed in "critical but stable" condition as of Thursday, police said.
Kokomo PD said an investigation found two cars arrived on North Washington Avenue, and an altercation happened before the victim was shot by one or more people connected with a Ford SUV, which detectives believe had at least two people in it. That car fled the scene southbound on Washington Street, and investigators are trying to identify its occupants and others who ran from the scene.
