IU basketball player arrested for 2 misdemeanors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — An Indiana University basketball player was arrested early Sunday morning.

The Bloomington Police Department made the arrest of the IU student for two Class A misdemeanors.

The two misdemeanors were listed as criminal trespass and resisting law enforcement, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

NOTE: WTHR has a policy to not name a suspect until charges have been filed by prosecutors.

IU Athletics put out a statement reading:

"IU Athletics is aware of the situation. We will continue to gather facts, cooperate with and monitor the legal process, and take further action as the evolving situation warrants."

WTHR also reached out to the Bloomington Police Department for comment.
