ISP: Former Cloverdale schools employee arrested on child seduction charge

Police said Mandy Evans, 46, sent sexual photos and communications to minors. She resigned when confronted by school administration, the superintendent said.

CLOVERDALE, Ind. — A former Cloverdale Community Schools employee is under arrest, accused of child seduction, authorities said.

According to Indiana State Police, 46-year-old Mandy Evans sent sexual photos and communications to minors.

An ISP spokesperson said the investigation dates back to March. Evans was arrested Thursday and is being held at the Putnam County Jail with no bond allowed, according to police.

Evans is charged with multiple counts of child seduction and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.

In a statement shared with 13News Dec. 21, Cloverdale Community Schools Superintendent Greg Linton said the district learned in March that Evans "had been sending inappropriate communication to some of our students." Evans resigned when confronted by administration, Linton said, and she was told not to be on school property or attend any school events.

Full statement from Cloverdale Community Schools Superintendent Greg Linton:

At Cloverdale Community Schools our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our students, and we take these allegations very seriously. In March of this year, we learned that a classified employee, Mandy Evans, had been sending inappropriate communication to some of our students. Immediately upon learning this information, school officials contacted law enforcement. When confronted by administration the employee resigned. At that time, the former employee was instructed to not be on school property or attend any school events. We continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement authorities in their investigation. All should understand that Cloverdale Community School Corporation does not tolerate any conduct that would harm any of our students. When we learn of any staff members’ conduct that may harm one of our students, we immediately take appropriate actions. Because this matter involves confidential student information and pending legal proceedings, Cloverdale Community School Corporation will not be commenting further.
