FISHERS, Ind. — An Indianapolis man is in custody after he allegedly robbed a Fishers restaurant, fled from police and fired a gun.

Around 1:30 a.m. June 30, Fishers police were called to a report of a robbery and carjacking at the Taco Bell on Allisonville Road. According to the report, several men drew their guns in the drive through and demanded money. One of the men then stole an employee's car.

FPD says no employees were harmed in the robbery.

Just after leaving the restaurant, an officer found the stolen car driving south on Allisonville Road. Police tried to stop the car but it would not pull over and led officers on a chase that ended with several officers, including a K-9 team, chasing the suspect on foot.

Officers allowed the K-9 to run ahead to catch the suspect when they heard a gunshot, but no K-9 or officers were injured. The man was apprehended quickly after the gunshot.

During his arrest, officers found a handgun believed connected to the Taco Bell crime scene and victims identified him as the main suspect. In custody, the suspect confessed to the robbery, car theft and the firing of his gun, police said.
