INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis teenager has been charged after police say he pulled a gun while attempting to buy a gaming console from a man he met on Facebook Marketplace.
Miquel Beasley, 16, is charged with two felony counts of armed robbery and criminal recklessness, as well as a misdemeanor charge of dangerous possession of a firearm by a child.
According to recently released court documents, shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, May 31, IMPD officers were called to the 3800 block of German Church Road, near 38th Street, on a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who confirmed the robbery had taken place. Officers also noticed the victim had a cut on one of their hands.
In a statement given to officers, the victim told police that they had listed their PlayStation 5 on Facebook Marketplace and agreed to meet a buyer at a location on Willowood Drive. The buyer, later identified as Beasley, allegedly tried to send the victim $340 through the payment service CashApp.

The victim allegedly told police the CashApp transaction failed three times and after the third failure, Beasley then pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim give him the PS5.
Court documents say the victim tried to pull out a pocketknife but did not have the blade ready. That's when Beasley allegedly began to walk away while fiddling with the gun. The victim told police they did not know what Beasley was doing with the gun, but mentioned hearing clicking sounds and assumed the gun was a BB gun.
The victim told police they began to chase Beasley into the area of the 3500 block of Bearwood Court. Beasley allegedly ran toward one of the homes on Bearwood Court and attempted to open the door, but it was locked.

According to court documents, Beasley and the victim then got into a physical fight with Beasley later firing a shot at the victim, missing them. Court documents say the victim then grabbed Beasley's left hand and stabbed him in the back with their pocketknife. During the struggle, the victim was able to grab the gun's magazine.
Beasley allegedly told the victim there was still one round in the chamber and that "it only takes one." Beasley threatened to shoot the victim if they didn't drop the PS5.
The victim, backing away from Beasley, reportedly then threw the magazine over a fence, backed away with the PS5 toward their car and drove back to the location on German Church Road to call the police.
While describing Beasley to police, the victim noted that Beasley was wearing an ankle monitor at the time.
Court documents say that less than 30 minutes later, around 6:30 p.m., IMPD officers received a report of a person stabbed on Bearwood Court. Officers arrived and found a victim, later identified as Beasley, with a stab wound to the back. Medics said Beasley suffered a collapsed right lung in the stabbing.
Police noticed Beasley matched the description given to them from the robbery victim. Court documents allege Beasley was uncooperative with police when they came to his aid.
Officers investigated the area and interviewed neighbors as witnesses. According to court documents, police could not find shell casings, a magazine or firearm in the area.
Beasley was identified using a photo array and arrested for armed robbery. His initial hearing was held June 13, and an attorney conference is scheduled for July 16 at 8:30 a.m.
