WHITELAND, Indiana — An Indianapolis man has been charged after he allegedly pointed a gun at students near Whiteland Community High School.

Bradley A. Gibson, 43, was charged Nov. 18 with one count of pointing a firearm at another, a felony.

The incident happened the afternoon of Sept. 18, 2024, outside an entry road leading to the school in Johnson County.

According to court documents, a Whiteland police officer said a witness approached them screaming, "There's a gold SUV where a guy pointed a gun at the kids!"

The officer pulled over the car and took Gibson into custody.

"Due to the witness statements and being able to describe the driver and firearm, in addition to the victim statements from the juveniles, Mr. Gibson was charged with Pointing a Firearm and transported to the Johnson County Jail without incident," the officer wrote in the arresting probably cause affidavit.

Online court records indicate an initial hearing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 2, 2024.
