INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man is in police custody after an alleged road rage shooting on the east side of Indianapolis Tuesday evening.
According to a release from Indiana State Police, around 6 p.m. on Feb. 6, dispatchers received a 911 call about a driver shooting at a car on Interstate 465 northbound, near the Washington Street exit. The suspect allegedly fired multiple shots at the caller before fleeing the scene in a Chevrolet Malibu.
ISP troopers quickly located the suspect's car and pulled him over on Post Road, near 25th Street. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, identified as a 20-year-old Indianapolis man, was taken to the Marion County jail on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and possession of a handgun by a prohibited person.
