Indianapolis drug raid uncovers 31 pounds of meth and 1.5 kilos of cocaine

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Two people are in custody after a drug raid on the city's northwest side.

The Indianapolis Metro Drug Task Force and IMPD seized 31 pounds of methamphetamine and one and a half kilos of cocaine earlier this week.

Police arrested 49-year-old Irma Victoria Gomez-Cortez and her 20-year-old son Michael Olvera-Gomez on Tuesday after Irma purchased six pounds of meth.

According to police, the approximate “street” value of the meth seized was $297,600.00 (if sold by the ounce) and $1,125,920.00 (if sold by the gram). The approximate “street value” of the cocaine seized was $60,000.00 (if sold by the ounce) and $122,800.00 (if sold by the gram).

Both suspects were preliminarily charged with possession and dealing of a controlled substance.
