Escaped inmate captured on west side of Indianapolis

Marion Jaynes was captured at a home in the 4400 block of West Vermont Street in Indianapolis.

EDINBURGH, Ind. — IMPD captured an inmate who walked away from a work crew at the Edinburgh Correctional Facility.

Marion Jaynes was captured at a home in the 4400 block of West Vermont Street, near Holt and Rockville roads.

According to IDOC officials, Jaynes was reportedly last seen driving a 2006 blue Dodge Dakota, with the license plate TK699MLU, just before 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30 near Harding and Lambert streets in Indianapolis.

Jaynes is serving a 20-year sentence for burglary.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Police, IMPD , Mooresville Police Department, and Indiana State Police are assisting were all assisting in the investigation.

The Edinburgh Correctional Facility is a minimum security facility located on the grounds of Camp Atterbury with work crews who work in multiple areas.
