INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD arrested a 17-year-old suspect last week in connection with a September shooting on Indianapolis' south side.
The shooting was reported around 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 in the 8500 block of Madison Avenue, near East Stop 12 Road. Responding officers found a man who had been shot.
A department spokesperson at the time described that man as "awake and breathing," but did not share any additional information on his condition. He was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
"Officers located a second crime scene in the 8000 block of Madison Avenue," the department said in a social media post.
On Thursday, Oct. 10, detectives served a search warrant on the car in the area and located a stolen gun, police said. A 17-year-old was found and arrested for his alleged involvement. He faces preliminary charges of attempted murder, robbery and aggravated assault, IMPD said.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make final charging decisions in the case.
