INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating a police shooting that happened after a suspect allegedly hit an officer with a car in downtown Indianapolis Thursday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m. Nov. 14, officers went to check on a person in a drive-thru in the 1500 block of North Meridian Street, near West 16th Street.. Police said the driver hit an officer with their car, which led to another officer shooting at the suspect, hitting him.
An IMPD spokesperson said medics took the officer to a hospital, where the officer's condition was described as "good."
Medics took the suspect to a hospital, and the suspect is said to be in "stable condition."
Police are asking people to avoid the area, if possible, as the investigation continues.
