35-year-old man killed in shooting north of Indiana State Fairgrounds

The shooting was reported around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 4400 block of Primrose Avenue, near East 46th Street and North Keystone Avenue.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was killed in a shooting in a neighborhood north of the Indiana State Fairgrounds early Wednesday.

Around 4:45 a.m. Oct. 18, officers responded to the 4400 block of Primrose Avenue, near East 46th Street and North Keystone Avenue, for a report of shots fired and a possible person shot.

Officers located man with gunshot wounds outside a car who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 35-year-old Brandon Lamonte Drake.

An IMPD spokesperson said no suspects were in custody as of early Wednesday.

Preliminary information leads detectives to believe the man may have been shot inside the car.
