INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was killed in a shooting on Indianapolis' far east side early Tuesday.
Around 3:30 a.m. Nov. 14, officers responded to an apartment complex in 10000 block of Greenbrook Trail, near 10th Street and North Mitthoefer Road, for reports of shots fired and then a person shot.
There they located a man who had been shot. He was taken in critical condition to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, IMPD said.
On Nov. 15, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 27-year-old Trevon Anthony Smith.
Homicide detectives responded to a scene to begin an investigation and are working to determine what led up to the shooting, an IMPD spokesperson told 13News. Detectives currently believe the shooting was an "isolated incident," the spokesperson said.
No suspect had been taken into custody as of early Tuesday, police said.
