INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a person was critically injured in a shooting on Indianapolis' near north side early Wednesday.
The shooting was reported around 4:30 a.m. July 17 in the 2900 block of North Capitol Avenue, near West 30th Street.
Officers on scene found a person who was shot. That victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, an IMPD spokesperson said.
No additional information on the circumstances of the shooting was immediately available.

Southbound Capitol Avenue from 30th to 29th streets was closed for roughly an hour during the investigation but has since reopened.
