INDIANAPOLIS โ IMPD arrested three men over the weekend after they allegedly flashed guns during a disturbance over a basketball game at an east Indianapolis park Sunday evening.
Just before 5:30 p.m. July 14, officers responded to a report of the disturbance involving several men threatening to shoot guns at the Christian Park basketball courts, near English Avenue and South Sherman Drive.
When officers arrived, witnesses directed them to a car with two of the suspects who flashed guns during the incident. Police said officers detained a 20-year-old man and 22-year-old man without incident.
In that car, police found marijuana, an extended gun magazine and two handguns. Police said one of the guns they found was previously reported stolen.
The 20-year-old man is facing preliminary charges for pointing a firearm and possession of marijuana, while the 22-year-old man is facing preliminary charges for possession of a stolen firearm.

After detaining the first two men, officers were advised that a 27-year-old man was involved in the disturbance and was armed with a gun nearby.
As police approached him, they found a gun on the ground that had been reported stolen. Officers detained the man, who said the gun was his. The 27-year-old man is now facing preliminary charges for possession of stolen firearm.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decisions.
