INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD officers were looking for a suspect believed to be armed on the city's southwest side Wednesday morning.
The department posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, at 9:40 a.m. Oct. 2 that officers were in the 5000 block of West Raymond Street, near South Lynhurst Drive.
IMPD's drone unit, K-9 and SWAT officers responded to the scene.
Police said they were not able to find a suspect in the area.
Nearby schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution, but police said at 10:19 a.m. that the lockdowns have been lifted.
Drivers and pedestrians were also asked to avoid the area during the investigation.
