INDIANAPOLIS — One man died and another is in critical condition after a shooting on Indianapolis' northeast side Sunday evening, IMPD said.
Around 7:15 p.m. Nov. 5, officers responded to a home in the 7300 block of Railhead Court, near Hague Road and East 75th Street, for a report of a person shot.
Officers found evidence of a shooting at the scene but no victim, learning a car may have left the scene with the victim inside. Officers located that car and followed it to Community Hospital North.
A man inside the car who had been shot was last listed in critical condition, police said.
As officers arrived at the hospital, they learned of another person with a possible gunshot wound(s) who had arrived nearby at Community Rehabilitation Hospital North. A man in critical condition there was transported to Community Hospital North, where he later died.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as 18-year-old Quarran Marshon Hopkins.
Homicide detectives believe both men were shot on Railhead Court, and "located several firearms, and multiple people were detained," IMPD said in a statement. Police believe the men knew each other and the shooting was not a random act.
"Detectives have identified multiple people who may have been involved and are working to determine if others were involved as well," IMPD said.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Detective David Miller at the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or email David.Miller2@indy.gov.
