1 critical after shooting on Indy's southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS — Beech Grove police and IMPD are investigating a shooting that left one person in critical condition on the city's southeast side Sunday night.

According to a release from IMPD, shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 29, officers responded to the 5900 block of Riva Ridge Drive, near South Arlington Avenue and I-465, on a report of a person shot. 

When officers arrived, they found one person with a gunshot wound. They were reported to be in critical condition, according to police. IMPD says the incident is believed to have begun in the 5400 block of Sagebrush Avenue, meaning the investigation will be handled by Beech Grove PD, but IMPD will assist.
