INDIANAPOLIS — A man was hospitalized Wednesday evening following a shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
According to an IMPD spokesperson, around 7:45 p.m. Aug. 14, officers responded to the 600 block of Eugene Street, which is near West 29th and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. streets, on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to an area hospital, where his condition was described as "stable."
According to IMPD, officers were later informed the suspect in the shooting was possibly inside a house on Eugene Street. IMPD confirmed to 13News that a SWAT standoff lasted a couple of hours, and nobody was located inside the home.
On Monday, Aug. 19, detectives with the IMPD Violent Crimes Unit arrested 38-year-old Desmond Clark, of Indianapolis, for his alleged role in the incident.
A warrant was issued for Clark's arrest on charges of battery with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
