INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was critically injured in a shooting on Indianapolis' north side early Sunday morning.
The incident was reported shortly after midnight Sept. 8 in the 4000 block of Carrollton Avenue, near College Avenue and East 40th Street and a few blocks west of the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Responding officers located a man with a gunshot wound(s) who was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition, police said.
"During the investigation, information was gathered, and it was learned that the location was a short-term rental property," a department spokesperson said in a statement. "The incident is believed to have occurred outside the front of the residence due to a disturbance. A firearm was recovered on scene."
The department's nuisance abatement unit responded to the scene during the investigation.
Police have not shared information at this time about a possible suspect.
