INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD homicide detectives are investigating after a person was found dead with traumatic injuries at a northwest Indianapolis gas station Saturday night.
IMPD arrested a 19-year-old man Thursday, May 2 for his alleged role in the incident. He was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decision.

Around 9 p.m. April 27, officers responded to the 3800 block of North High School Road, near West 38th Street, for a report of a person down. They located 50-year-old Kevin Jackson with "injuries consistent with trauma" in the parking lot of a gas station, outside of a car, police said.
Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, and homicide detectives responded to begin an investigation.
Witnesses told police someone was seen running from the parking lot, but police do not know whether or not that person was the suspect.
Detectives continued their investigation and were able to identify the 19-year-old as the alleged suspect after speaking with witnesses and looking at evidence.
