Man shot on Indy's east side

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday near East New York and North Rural streets.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating a shooting Thursday afternoon on the east side of Indianapolis.

According to police, shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sept. 12, officers responded to the 2600 block of East New York Street, near North Rural Street, on a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. Police say the man was "stable" when transported to an area hospital. As of Thursday evening, IMPD said they did not have any possible suspects and have not made any arrests in the case.
