INDIANAPOLIS — One person has died and another was injured after a shooting on the near northeast side of Indianapolis Friday evening.
According to IMPD, shortly after 7 p.m. on Nov. 1, officers responded to the 3500 block of North Lasalle Street, which is near East 34th Street and North Sherman Drive, on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found two adult males who had been shot.
The officers administered aid to the victims until medics arrived. Both men were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital, one in critical condition. That victim later died from his injuries. The other man is said to be in stable condition.
In addition to the scene on Lasalle Street, where the victims were found, police are investigating a scene on North Dearborn Street where shell casings were found.
Investigators initially received a report of people in two separate vehicles shooting at one another on North Olney Street, but were unable to locate anything at that location. Moments later, they received the report of the shooting on Lasalle Street.
Police are also canvassing the area for cameras that may have captured video of the car that was reportedly involved in the shooting.
