IMPD investigating double shooting on Indy's east side

The incident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of East 38th Street on the east side of Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS — Two men were critically injured after an incident on Indy's east side Saturday afternoon.

According to IMPD, shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, officers responded to the 5400 block of East 38th Street on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found an adult male who had been shot. He was reportedly transported to a local hospital by IEMS and is in critical condition.

A short time later, officers were called just down the road to the intersection of East 38th Street and North Arlington Avenue on a report of a another person shot. IMPD says another male victim was found with gunshot wounds and is also in critical condition.

IMPD says preliminary investigations lead officers to believe the two shootings are related.
