INDIANAPOLIS — A man has died after a double shooting on Indy's east side Saturday afternoon.
According to IMPD, shortly before 4:45 p.m. Oct. 26, officers responded to the 5400 block of East 38th Street, near Emerson Avenue, on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Christopher Clark shot. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
On Monday, Oct. 28, the Marion County Coroner's Office confirmed that Clark died from his injuries. His death was ruled a homicide.
IMPD said officers learned the suspect vehicle in this incident was a red Pontiac and was last seen driving away from the location after the shooting. Shortly after, an officer spotted the suspect vehicle at a nearby gas station on the 5900 block of East 38th Street, near North Arlington Street.
The officer went into the gas station and found the 33-year-old suspect with gunshot wounds. He was also taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
After consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder.
