IMPD investigating deadly shooting on city's east side

The shooting happened near East 44th Street and North Arlington Avenue around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police are investigating after a person was found shot to death Tuesday night on the city's east side.

The report came in around 9 p.m. in the 4400 block of Priscilla Avenue, just west of East 44th Street and North Arlington Avenue.

A police department spokesperson said officers were called to the area on a report of a shooting. They found a person with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man will be identified by the Marion County Coroner's Office once family has been notified.

There's no word on whether police have determined a motive in the case, nor whether a suspect had been identified.

It was the third Tuesday evening shooting being investigated by IMPD. Three people were hurt in the previous incidents.
