Man and woman killed in shooting on Indy's near northwest side

The shooting happened shortly before 11 p.m. Nov. 19, near the intersection of West 29th and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. streets.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man and woman were killed in a shooting on Indianapolis' near northwest side Sunday night.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Nov. 19, officers responded to a gas station near the intersection of West 29th and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. streets for a report of two people shot.

There, they located a man and woman inside a car that had been shot. The woman, who was the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male passenger was taken in critical condition to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On Monday, Nov. 20, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the woman as 25-year-old Rosalba G. Torres Arceo and man as 22-year-old David Lee Swanigan.

An IMPD spokesperson said officers found multiple shells casings at a building across the street from the gas station.

Police believe one of the victims attempted to drive away after the shooting before crashing at the gas station.

Police told 13News Sunday night they did not have a suspect, and no arrests had been made.
