Suspect arrested in 'domestic-related' shooting on Indy's north side

The incident happened around 7 a.m. Tuesday in the 9200 block of Ascot Circle, near I-465 and Ditch Road.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a person was shot on the north side of Indianapolis Tuesday morning. 

Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 9200 block of Ascot Circle, near Interstate 465 and Ditch Road, just after 7 a.m. Aug. 20. 

When officers arrived, they found a victim who had been shot. Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital in "critical, but stable, condition."

Detectives believe this was an isolated, domestic-related incident.

According to IMPD, a gun, along with additional evidence, was found and recovered at the scene.

Police said a suspect was located and detained at the scene. After consulting with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, police said the suspect will be arrested and transported to the Criminal Justice Campus.

IMPD confirmed no juveniles or other people were injured during the incident.
