INDIANAPOLIS — A woman is dead after a shooting late Friday on Indianapolis' near east side, police said
According to an IMPD spokesperson, officers were called around 11:15 p.m. to the 4800 block of East Michigan Street, just west of Emerson Avenue, on a report of the shooting.
When they arrived, police found a woman who had been shot and pronounced her dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 37-year-old Miri Tong and is working to determine the exact manner and cause of her death.
