Man arrested after boy injured in shooting on Indianapolis' west side

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD arrested a suspect after a boy was injured in a shooting on Indianapolis' west side Thursday afternoon.

The shooting was reported around 2:45 p.m. Oct. 31 in the 3400 block of North Rybolt Avenue, near West 34th Street and Lafayette Road. 

Responding officers located a boy who had been shot nearby in the 3400 block of Falcon Drive. An IMPD spokesperson said his condition was "stable" when taken to an Indianapolis hospital, and police found a crime scene on Rybolt Avenue. 

Detectives detained several "persons of interest" and all but one was released, the spokesperson said. "An adult male suspect was arrested in relation to this incident and transported to the Criminal Justice Campus (CJC)."
