INDIANAPOLIS — A 59-year-old man is in police custody following a deadly stabbing on Indy's west side Friday afternoon.
According to IMPD, around 4 p.m. on June 14 officers responded to the 3500 block of Dogie Road, near West Washington Street and North Tibbs Avenue, on a report of a person stabbed.
Officers arrived on scene and found one man suffering from traumatic injuries. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Officers detained Timothy Lisby in connection with the stabbing.
Following an investigation by homicide and aggravated assault detectives, IMPD later arrested the 59-year-old man for aggravated battery.
Police say the stabbing victim succumbed to their injuries one day later on June 15.
On June 17, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 31-year-old Christopher Allen Lisby.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make final charging decisions in the case.
