INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD arrested two young adults after a shooting during an attempted robbery Monday.
The shooting was reported around 1:30 p.m. Sept. 2 in the 8000 block of Madison Avenue, near East Stop 11 Road.
Responding officers located a man who had been shot. His condition was "stable" when taken to Eskenazi Hospital, police said.
Shortly after arriving, officers located three suspects "matching the description provided by witnesses on scene," the department said in a social media post. The three suspects, a 21-year-old man, 19-year-old man and a juvenile, were taken into custody.
Detectives confirmed the suspects "were the involved parties in the robbery incident," and learned the suspects "attempted to get into a vehicle that was not theirs, prior to fleeing the scene on foot and then being taken into custody by officers."
The 21-year-old and 19-year-old were arrested on a preliminary charge of robbery, while the juvenile was released pending further investigation, police said.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make final charging decisions in the case.
