IMPD arrests 33-year-old wanted man for having stolen gun

INDIANAPOLIS — Detectives with the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF) arrested a 33-year-old man, who was wanted for having a stolen gun. 

IMPD said investigators saw Branden Swan, of Hammond, Indiana, in the 1700 block of East 34th Street, with a stolen gun, shortly before noon on Wednesday, Oct. 16. 

Swan was prohibited from carrying a gun in both Indiana and Illinois due to pending felony cases there. 

Police said Swan was found to have an active felony warrant for dealing marijuana out of Marion County. He also has an active warrant out of Illinois for failing to appear on a felony charge of obstructing justice and a misdemeanor for resisting law enforcement.

Prosecutors filed a charge against Swan on Oct. 19 for unlawful carrying of a gun.
