INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police (IMPD) says a 9-year-old is in stable condition following a shooting near the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Shortly after midnight on Thursday, Oct. 12, officers were called to the 4200 block of Evanston Avenue on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a 9-year-old with a gunshot wound.
IMPD says the preliminary investigation has shown that the 9-year-old victim was shot by another person, rather than the shooting being self-inflicted.
