INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a 14-year-old boy was injured in a shooting on Indianapolis' west side Friday night.
The shooting happened Dec. 15 around 9:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Lindley Avenue, which is near West Washington Street and Interstate 465.
An IMPD spokesperson said officers investigating calls reporting gunfire in the area found the victim, a male under the age of 18, with an apparent gunshot wound.
Monday morning, police provided additional information on the incident and said a 14-year-old boy was driving a car near a group of people at a different location when at least one person shot at the car the teenager was driving.
The victim's condition was said to be stable when he was taken to a local hospital.
