INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was seriously injured in a shooting on Indianapolis' near east side Wednesday morning.
The incident was reported around 9:15 a.m. Sept. 4 in the 2200 block of East Washington Street, near Willard Park and a few blocks west of South Rural Street.
Responding officers located a man who had been shot. Medics took him to a local hospital in serious condition, an IMPD spokesperson said.
Police at the scene told 13News the man was shot during an attempted robbery. A car was stolen from the front of the property, and officers found the car abandoned down the street a short time later.
No additional information on the circumstances of the shooting has been shared by police.
