1 dead, 1 in critical condition after east Indianapolis shooting

INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a shooting left one person dead and one person critically injured early Sunday morning.

According to IMPD, just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, officers responded to a report of a person shot on the 4200 block of East New York Street, near North Gladstone Avenue and North Grant Avenue.

When officers arrived, they said they found two men with gunshot injuries near the New Yorker Bar. Police told 13News they believe this started as an argument inside.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other victim is listed as critical condition. 

Police have not shared information about a possible suspect or motive at this time.
