Kokomo couple arrested for manufacturing, dealing counterfeit fentanyl pills

Police arrested a 33-year-old man and 28-year-old woman after a search warrant showed their house was the source of a counterfeit fentanyl operation.

KOKOMO, Ind. — The Howard County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested two people for dealing narcotics after a search warrant revealed large amounts of fentanyl inside a Kokomo home. 

According to a release from the HCSO, shortly before noon on March 19, the Howard County Violent Crimes Sheriff’s Office Task Force Unit and Day Shift Patrol, with the assistance of Howard County Probation, executed a search warrant of a house in the 800 block of East Hoffer Street, near Home Avenue and East Boulevard.

During the search, police said they located 98 counterfeit fentanyl pills, a pill press, over 100 grams of fentanyl, an illegally possessed firearm and items used to manufacture counterfeit pills. 

Additionally, police also said they found "several grams" of fentanyl hidden in an infant's formula container. 

Police arrested a 28-year-old woman and 33-year-old man following the search.

Both suspects were arrested on preliminary charges of felony possession and felony dealing in narcotics. The 28-year-old female suspect was preliminarily charged with two counts of felony child neglect.
