INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Homegoing Celebration for former IU football player Chris Beaty has been set.

It will be held Friday at the Pavilion at Pan Am. That's on 201 S. Capitol Ave. in Indianapolis.

It will begin at noon and is open to the public until 6 p.m. The funeral is private though and for family only.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Chris Beaty Memorial Fund.

Beaty was a young entrepreneur who played football at Cathedral High School and then Indiana University.

He was shot and killed outside his apartment during the weekend violence May 30.
