INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — A man charged in a deadly hit-and-run is scheduled for his first court appearance this week.
Detectives at IMPD arrested 54-year-old Mosi Wallace. On Jan. 10 a driver struck George Williamson in his wheelchair near East 30th Street and Bolton Avenue and kept going.
Investigators recovered pieces of the suspect vehicle which helped them identify a make and model. Knowing they were looking for a 2007-2013 Chevy Silverado pickup led them to Wallace.
According to the details written in charging documents filed by the Marion County prosecutor, Wallace allegedly took his pickup back to the car lot where he purchased it and shared the damages with the owner.
Court documents also indicate he shared the hit and run information with his wife.
Wallace is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Death which is a felony.
Williamson is the nephew of the owner of Indy’s popular Williamson Fish Market Restaurant on Indy’s near northwest side. Williamson’s family owned PA& MA's BAR-B-QUE.
