GREENWOOD, Ind. — One person was taken into custody after a man was injured in a shooting in Greenwood Friday morning.
The shooting was reported around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 6 in the area of West County Line Road and Meridian Street.
Responding officers located a 35-year-old Greenwood man who had "non-life-threatening gunshots to his arm and leg," a Greenwood Police Department spokesperson said in a statement.
The man was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where his condition was described by police as "stable."
Police determined the shooting happened at a nearby home on West County Line Road, where officers "spoke with the person responsible for shooting" the man, police said, adding that the two people were "well acquainted."
The man who shot the 35-year-old was taken into custody and transported to the Greenwood Police Department for questioning, police said.
"This case is currently ongoing and fluid," the Greenwood PD spokesperson said in a statement. "Greenwood Detectives are working closely with the Johnson County Prosecutors Office who will determine if and what charges may be filed in the future."
