Greencastle man, who previously owned Avon dance studio, charged with child exploitation

GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Deputies arrested a Greencastle man for child exploitation.

The Boone County Child Abuse & Sexual Exploitation Task Force got a tip May 7 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a post on X depicted a child engaged in sexual activity with an adult, later identified as Bruce A. Campbell.

Investigators learned Campbell was a dance choreographer who had access to children and once owned a dance studio in Avon.

Putnam County prosecutors charged Campbell with child exploitation. His initial court hearing was May 13, when he entered a not guilty plea.

The judge set Campbell's cash bond at $25,000 and scheduled a pretrial conference for July 11.

The Boone County C.A.S.E. Task Force is made up of investigations, forensic examiners and prosecutors from the following agencies: 

  • Boone County Prosecutor's Office
  • Boone County Sheriff's Office
  • Lebanon Police Department
  • Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department
  • Zionsville Police Department

The investigation is ongoing.
