Registered sex offender who fled arrest in Gas City back in custody

According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, 35-year-old Brayton Matthew Tedder was arrested Wednesday evening.

GAS CITY, Ind. — Police in Grant County say a registered sex offender who fled from officers who were attempting to serve an arrest warrant is back in custody.

According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, deputies were attempting to serve the warrant on 35-year-old Brayton Matthew Tedder in the 500 block of East South G Street in Gas City around 2:15 p.m. on Jan. 24. Police say Tedder ran off and is believed to have made it outside of a perimeter that had been set up by officers.

In addition to the Grant County deputies, officers from the Gas City Police Department and Indiana State Police assisted in the search for Tedder.

The sheriff's department announced on Facebook Jan. 31 that Tedder had been arrested after he was found in a shed at a home in Fairmount.
