2 injured in Franklin shooting

Both shooting victims were transported to area hospitals and were said to be "alive."

FRANKLIN, Ind. — The Franklin Police Department is investigating after a shooting left two people injured Saturday afternoon. 

According to the FPD, officers responded to the 1200 block of Aberdeen Drive, near U.S. 31 and Commerce Drive, May 11 on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a man and a woman both with gunshot wounds. 

Both shooting victims were transported to area hospitals and were said to be "alive." 

A preliminary investigation lead police to believe the two people who were shot knew one another.

Police have not shared information at this time about a possible suspect or motive.
