INDIANAPOLIS — A Franklin man will spend two years in federal prison for 3D printing and trafficking firearms and Glock switches.
During the investigation, 28-year-old Alexander Clark was seen selling five Glock style pistols that were made with the use of a 3D printer for the frames, a 3D printed AR-15 rifle lower receiver, and two machinegun conversion devices.
In August 2022, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents searched Clark's home and found seven machineguns, 27 machinegun conversion devices and seven silencers.
“Machinegun conversion devices are an urgent public safety challenge—an ordinary pistol equipped with a conversion device and an extended magazine can fire 31 rounds in just two seconds,” said Zachary A. Myers, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.
Clark will spend three years on probation after his release from prison.
