MADISON COUNTY, INDIANA, Ind. — A former Madison County fire chief was sentenced to 18 years Monday after pleading guilty to several counts of child solicitation and seduction.
James Randall Sizelove, the former Summitville fire chief, pleaded guilty to three counts of child solicitation, five counts of child seduction, one count of sexual misconduct with a minor and one count of possession of child pornography.
Twelve of the 18 years will be serviced in prison, with the remaining six on probation, according to the sentencing order. He will also be required to undergo a sex offender evaluation.
Indiana State Police said Sizelove had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a teen girl when he was a bus driver for the Madison Grant School Corporation.
The victim alleged multiple sexual crimes against Sizelove dating back to 2013 when she was 15 years old.
Investigators starting looking into the accusations on March 12, 2020, after a person described as "a concerned third-party" brought information to police.
Sizelove was also a reserve member of the Summitville Police Department during the time the alleged misconduct took place. Sizelove was relieved of his police duties after a search warrant was executed at his home April 14, 2020.
Detectives recovered multiple electronic devices, which were found to contain pornographic images of the then-underage victim.
Detectives took their evidence to the Madison County Prosecutor's Office, and an arrest warrant was issued for Sizelove. He then turned himself in at the Madison County Jail.
